1st National Youth Cliamte Change Forum Abuja 2009


Dear All,


Today you have taken action by joing Nigeria Youth Climate Coalition. Let me remind us that we, Young people constitute an important and significant part of the global/national population, yet, we are not reflected in our level of involvement and inclusion in decision-making processes and public debates.


As the governments is focusing on responding to the special needs and opportunities of young people, it is vital that WE,young people are included in shaping policies and services aimed to serve US


It is on this background that Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition was Formed to harmonize youths effort towards combacting climate Change, and other sustainable development issues. It also on this backgroud that NYCC is planing to Stage and effectively organised the First Ever National Youth Climate Change Forum in Abuja come October 29th, International Day of Climate Action...

Objectives of the Forum include:

A. To provide an opportunity where youths can become aware of phenomena due to climate change and share conversations on it. In the process of the Forum, youths will find ways towards sustainable green development

B. To make youths get involved in dealing with climate change in an effective manner and in the process of green development in Nigeria: build youth leadership capacities as young climate actors in Nigeria

C. To strengthen and improve cooperation and mutual interest amongst youths and other generations towards achieving sustainable national development


d. To formally launch, the Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition and re-launch African Youth Initiative on climate Change-Nigerian Chapter

NYCC is calling on you to contribute what ever expertise or experince that you have to the sucess of the initiative...We know you will. This is our Initiative, our Nation.You will be writing a new History!!!
