More than anyone else, we, the Youth, face unprecedented challenges as a result of global climate change. We also share the responsibility of addressing it. As a group, we are key moral stake-holders in the international processes treating the most important challenge of our generation: climate change. As it is our future, we will be disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change.
It is critical for present and future leaders to collaborate on finding solutions and we have and will now, and continually, make our voices heard and participate in the Local, national and international processes that aim to cope with and stop dangerous climate change.
In the past, youth have already been important actors of the discussion on climate change and have extensively been represented and contributing to the UNFCCC and other negotiations. They have gathered some experience over the last years of being an active group of stake-holder at the Conference of the Parties and other meetings conveyed in the framework of the UNFCCC like UN CSD. Youth have had a consolidated participation to the processes, working effectively as a group and building mechanisms to better cooperate with the UNFCCC secretariat.
The Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition will bring youth organizations with common interest to contribute to sustainable National Development. NYCC will provide a platform for effective youth engagement in Local and National climate policies in Nigeria while inspiring and stimulating youth action on climate Change.
NYCC will build youth leadership capacity as Climate Actors in Nigeria
Yes We Can: our vision of a safe climate future in Nigeria.
